Smash Sensation Katharine McPhee

Katharine McPhee was brilliant in her debut on SMASH. I have watched her career for over six years now and feel so excited for her in this life changing series.

When Katharine auditioned six years ago for American Idol I told my wife that this girl would be a star. I can not even remember who she finished second to. What I do remember is Steven Spielberg watching her on Idol and calling her for a meeting. He signed her to a contract.

I lost track for awhile, but then she simply exploded on Public Television's David Foster and Friends. When I heard her sing a duet with Andrea Bocelli I knew my original expectations had been met. Not only had her singing improved, but she also lost some of that extra weight that she carried onto American Idol. She looked phenominal!

I was even more surprised when watching SMASH to see what a natural actress she has become. She just took her role and ran with it like an old pro and she looked sensational! Naturally, I was somewhat shocked at some of the scenes she was in that included the bedroom where she was half-dressed. Then, it dawned on me that she was no longer that young girl that blushed after her audition on Idol.

The song (Beautiful) that she sang in SMASH for her audition scene was just breathtaking. The way she worked her vocals and the way she worked her magic with her God given body and beauty was just overwhelming. What a wonderful face she has! Takes me back to the early days of Elizabeth Taylor.

Needless to say, I look forward to each and every week to watch this great talent and see where this show takes her....
